The Department of Radiology at School of Medicine, Ewha Womans University was opened in conjunction with the opening of Dong Dea Moon Hospital at 1948. In 1993, Department of Radiology of Mok Dong Hospital began with 3 staffs, 6 residents and 28 radiological technicians.

Current Department of radiology consists of 9 staffs and is divided into 8 divisions: abdominal radiology, chest and cardiac radiology, breast radiology, genitourinary radiology, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal radiology, pediatric radiology, and interventional radiology. Imaging produced in each division is interpretated by specialists.

In Mok Dong Hospital, PACS(Picture Archiving Communication System) has been working from 2001.
We has been used 16 channel MDCT(Somatom Sensation 16, Siemens) from 2002 and continuously, we have had 64 channel MDCT (Somatom Sensation 64, Siemens) on 2005, 3T MRI and angiography system (Axiom Artis, Siemens) on 2007 and updated digital direct radiography (DiDi 1.5R Philips) on 2009. At present time, 16 channel and 64 channel MDCT, 1.5T and 3T MRI, 1 angiography system, 3 digital direct radiography, 2 computed radiography and 5 ultrasounds are used for various tests, and ultrasound and CT equipments are used for biopsies.

We are committed to patient-oriented practice with accurate and prompt diagnosis for effective treatment. We have made every endeavor to deliver essential information for treatment, leading research and education in the field as a part of faculty at Ewha Womans University. Our faculty members are continuing its effort in image analyzing, and development in research and education.
