We treat diseases and injuries related with bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, nerves and blood vessels of limbs and the spine. Our major treatment modalities include medication, injection, physical therapy and surgical treatment

Orthopedic Surgery that previously operated as one of General Surgery is established in September 1963 by Professor Choi Gi Hong, a manager. At that time, the equipment was a major university hospital and a comparable level. New Albee fracture table, Electric Bone Instrumentation Set and most of the equipment at the end of the 1950s were donated by fifth U.S. Air Force. Physical Therapy department has been established in 1967 and gave a lot of help in the treatment of patients. In 1968, the resident has been selected yearly. New buildings were built in 1975 and Orthopedic wards became independent. In 1988, under the chairmanship of the Orthopedic Surgery, the Korean Fracture Society whose official room maintains in Ewha Medical Center was founded. In 2003, we had the Korean artificial joint center at Ewha Dongdaemun hospital. After the Dongdaemun hospital was closed in 2008, the staff at the hospital joined to the staff of Ewha Mokdong hospital.

Currently, there are 10 members of the staff in Orthopedic Surgery.
