Welcome to the Department of Ophthalmology

Since 1952, our task is to enhance the quality of life by improving sight, preventing blindness, and advancing ophthalmic knowledge through compassionate patient care and innovative vision research. And we regard the education of our ophthalmic residents, fellows and medical students.

We have sub-speciality expertise such as external eye disease, vitreo-retinal disease, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Also, we have links with the diabetes center, neurosurgery, pediatrics, the organ transplantation center for comprehensive medical care.

Our faculties actively search for the causes, preventive measures and most effective treatments for diseases and disorders of the eye. We perform the clinical and basic research for the pathophysiology of glaucoma, strabismus, age-related macular degenerations, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye syndrome, and corneal wound healing.

We will continue to maintain our efforts to provide the best care possible for each patient and the outstanding training programs.
